I own an apartment building with a Garaventa Genesis elevator that's been acting up. Even when the doors are open, the elevator keeps running. I already checked the door locks and safety string and even tried opening their circuits, but the PLC still shows "Safety OK" and won't stop the elevator. I heard there might be a service mode in the PLC that bypasses these safety checks. Has anyone dealt with this before? If any of you guys know how to disable that, would be great as well.

You can determine from the PLC input screen while toggling door locks, if the status doesn't change but the safety still reads OK, you're definitely in override

Why would the PLC still read "Safety OK" even when you've manually opened the safety circuits, could it be stuck in a service or bypass mode without indicating it?

Probably stuck in a service or bypass mode that's overriding the door safety inputs, on some Garaventa setups, there's a hidden service menu or jumper that lets maintenance run the elevator regardless of door status, check the PLC's configuration or user manual for any service mode settings, sometimes it's accessible via a keypad or software
